Agnetha Åse Fältskog (born 5 April ), known as Agnetha Fältskog (Swedish pronunciation:[aŋˈnêːtaˈfɛ̂ltskuːɡ]) and AnnaFältskog,[1] is a Swedish singer, songwriter, and a former member of the pop group ABBA. She first achieved success in Sweden with the release of her self-titled debut album. She rose to international stardom in the s as a member of ABBA,[2] which is one of the best-selling music acts in history.[3] She is the youngest member of ABBA, and the only one born in the s.

After the unofficial break-up of ABBA in December , she renewed success later in the decade as a solo artist with three albums and a leading role in a movie. She became reclusive in the s, avoiding outside publicity[4] and residing[5] on the Stockholm County island of Ekerö.

Fältskog stopped recording music for 16 years until she released a new album, My Colouring Book, in [6][7] She returned in with A, her highest UK charting solo album to date.[8

Agnetha Fältskog was born in Jönköping, Sweden and by the age of six had written her first song. In , she began taking piano lessons, was singing in a local church choir and two years later Agnetha formed a trio, The Cambers, with two friends performing locally without much success. She left school at fifteen and worked as a telephonist, performing with a local dance band in the evenings.

She soon had to make a choice between singing or answering the phone and chose singing, staying with the Bernt Enghardt Band for two years before her song &#;Jag var så kär&#; was heard by CBS Records and she signed a deal releasing it as a single in , becoming a big star in Sweden in the process.
